Description of the apartment

This vacation rental is located in the historic center of Rome near the important Basilica of San Clemente at via San Giovanni in Laterano, 160, a street that from antiquity linked the Colosseum to the Basilica of San Giovanni (St. John). From the windows of the apartment you can see, to the left, the Colosseum, and to the right, the obelisk "Lateranese" (the oldest and tallest of Rome). The apartment is also very close to two metro stations: Colosseo and San Giovanni.

This apartment, just as the other vacation rental near the Colosseum, has been completely remodeled. The apartment is elegantly furnished and beautifully decorated (the colors chosen are all in tones of the white and beige, creating a relaxing and pleasant atmosphere) and includes tromp l'oeil paintings by the owner.

The apartment is on the 1st floor (no elevator) of a building from the early 1900s, and includes air conditioning and soundproof windows for a quiet and relaxing vacation in Rome.

The apartment is 55/60 sqm (600-645 sq ft) and is composed of:
A small entry hall that leads to the living room where you will also find a small corner kitchen decorated with hand painted tiles (refrigerator, microwave, electric stove, dishwasher and everything necessary for cooking). In the living room you will find a sofa, two arm chairs, a dining table and four chairs (the tabletop is hand painted with a faux-marble finish). There is also a washing machine. The apartment also comes equipped with DVD, CD player and a radio.

2 bedrooms both with queen size beds:
One of the two rooms has a larger bed that is closer to a king size (170x200cm) with a fresco painted above with the view of the Dome of St. Peters and the Tiber river.

The other bedroom has a queen size bed that measures 150x190cm. Both the rooms have closets and windows to let in the light.

2 Bathrooms:
A very spacious bath is decorated with travertine tiles and includes all services (sink, w.c., bidet and shower). The other bath, again decorated with travertine tiles, while smaller, still contains a sink w.c, and shower.

A door leads out on to a small balcony.

Upon your arrival, the owner will make available, in addition to her knowledge and experience, also a large number of tourist guides, brochures and maps of Rome so that you will immediately have Rome, as they say, "in your hands."

For small group walking tours, Natalia recommends Context Travel, which in her experience is one of the best in Rome!

In addition, she will provide you with a cellular phone that will allow her to always be in contact with you during your stay and to inform you about any special event in Rome at the right moment. Personal phone calls are not included.

Rome in August
For a cultural holiday that also includes time at the seaside and beach, Rome in August is ideal.

The city is much less chaotic and crowded and you'll find the lines to visit museums and monuments much shorter, leaving you all the time you'll need to spend half the day enjoying the sights in Rome and the rest at the beach at Ostia Lido.

The " Lido di Ostia " is easily reached with a frequent train from Rome and in less than 30 minutes you'll be at the seaside. We recommend a side trip to "Ostia Antica," the ancient Roman port with some of the best conserved ruins and mosaics in the world.
