This apartment rental is located near the Colosseum and the important Basilica of San Clemente in the historic center of Rome at via San Giovanni in Laterano, 174. Looking out the windows, you'll have a view of the Colosseum and a small part of the Vittorio Emanuele monument at Piazza Venezia to your left and to the right you'll see the obelisk of San Giovanni and the upper part of the basilica of St Anthony of Padua. Getting around Rome will be no problems as the apartment is also very close to two metro stations: Colosseo and San Giovanni.
This apartment, just as the Colosseum View 1 rental, has been completely remodeled. The owner takes great pride in personally decorating the apartments and it shows. The apartment is elegantly furnished and includes tromp l'oeil paintings by the owner.
|
The apartment is on the 2nd floor (no elevator) of a building from the early 1900s, and includes air conditioning in both bedrooms as well as a ceiling fan in the living room. Double windows (not just double panes) have been installed to eliminate noise and guarantee a good night's sleep. The apartment is located in the building right next to our Colosseum View 1 rental apartment which makes it perfect for families or groups traveling together.
|
The apartment can accommodate up to 4 guests (5 guests if they are a family) and is 60/65 sqm (645-700 sq ft). It is composed of:
An entry hall, living room/dining area and a small corner kitchen decorated with hand painted tiles (refrigerator,
microwave, electric cook top and everything you need for preparing meals).
|
The owner decided, from her own experience, to make the living/dining area smaller in order to have larger bedrooms since the tourist in Rome spends most of the day out enjoying the many things to do as well as the sights.
The 2 bedrooms are therefore quite large. One bedroom has a king size bed (78x78 inches, 2x2 meters) which can also be separated in 2 twin beds as well as a chair that folds out to a bed. The other bedroom has a large queen size bed (67x78 inches, 1.7x2 meters) with a headboard made of an antique mirror, giving a touch of baroque to the room. This bedroom also has a TV. The apartment also come equipped with DVD, CD player and a radio. There is also a washing machine.
There are 2 Bathrooms, both decorated with travertine tiles and complete with sink, w.c., shower. The window of one and the upper part of a wall in the other both have leaded glass a la "tiffany".
The owner is very knowledgeable about Rome and will be happy to provide you with helpful tips on restaurants, things to see and do as well as tourist guides, brochures and maps of Rome.
Rome Airport Transfers: Fiumicino & CiampinoDolce Rome Apartments has arranged an agreement with a Taxi company and has succeeded in establishing a fixed price to and from the two airports in Rome. |
| For small group walking tours, Natalia recommends Context Travel, which in her experience is one of the best in Rome! |
Our accommodations offer the advantages of a bed and breakfast; cozy and comfortable like a B&B and you will have direct contact with a true Italian, yet the apartment remains for your exclusive use, giving you all the privacy you want for your vacation in Rome.

Rome in August
For a cultural holiday that also includes time at the seaside and beach, Rome in August is ideal.
The city is much less chaotic and crowded and you'll find the lines to visit museums and monuments much shorter, leaving you all the time you'll need to spend half the day enjoying the sights in Rome and the rest at the beach at Ostia Lido.
The " Lido di Ostia " is easily reached with a frequent train from Rome and in less than 30 minutes you'll be at the seaside. We recommend a side trip to "Ostia Antica," the ancient Roman port with some of the best conserved ruins and mosaics in the world.
