AUDIENCIES AND OTHER CEREMONIES WITH THE HOLY FATHER

To obtain an audience, held every Wednesday morning, or to participate in other cerimonies celebrated by the Holy Father, you must procure an admission ticket.

Tickets are distributed free of charge at the Prefettura della Casa Pontificia of Vatican City

(tel. 06 6988 1828); the entrance is through the Portone di Bronzo (Bronze Door).

The Prefettura is open on business days from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

THE VATICAN MUSEUMS

Information on visiting hours and holidays is available at www.vatican.va

Entrance is from Viale Vaticano. Admission is free the last Sunday of the month.

ST. PETERS BASILICA

The Basilica is open every day from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. April through September, and from 7 a.m. to 6.30 p.m. October through March.

THE DOME

The dome is open to visitors every day from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. April through September, and from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. October through March. Entrance is through the Basilica door.

THE SACRED VATICAN GROTTOS (Tombs of the Popes)

Open every day from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. April through September, and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. October through March. Entrance is through the right transept of the Basilica.

TOMB OF SAINT PETER AND PRECONSTANTINE NECROPOLIS

Guided tours can be arranged through the Ufficio Scavi (Excavation Office) tel. 06 6988 5318.

The office is open on business days from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. It can be reached through the Arco delle Campane.
